Mevlana Rumi said it perfectly "Who comes to the lake for water, and sees the reflection of the moon." But the functions of urban lakes are beyond its aesthetic and recreational value. Our beloved Dhaka was once surrounded by six rivers. Pathetically, the relationship between Dhaka city and her rivers has gone sour in course of time. While most of the rivers surrounding Dhaka and a number of canals which were once used to flow within the city, has started to vanish but then again the authorities had come forward to save a few of those through restoring.
