Berger Award for Excellence in Architecture, 2015

The Krishibid Institute Bangladesh (KIB) is a significant body endeavoring to bolster the “Shurjo Santan”, that is, the farmers, of this agriculture-based country constantly striving to create a “Sonar Bangla”. KIB is an aspirational undertaking that serves a versatile intent to enliven traditional Bangladeshi architecture. It contains green spaces, plazas and spaces for conglomeration in layers, reliving the “uthan” concept. The landscape of KIB when viewed from the top exemplifies the ailed village agricultural land, formed in a grid. This pattern is also extended to the roof gardens. KIB situated near to National Capitol Complex derived the influence of the extended plaza and the semi-basement from the national icon.
